The widely used attachments
Depending on the applicable machine, attachments can be divided into skid steer attachment, tractor attachment, and excavator attachment. Here we focus on the skid steer attachment. The following are the nine most used skid steer attachments.
1. skid steer brush cutter
The brush cutter is usually used in the landscape. Landscapers use the brush cutter to clean up the overgrowth weeds, dense brush, and small saplings.
Most brush cutters use an L-type blade which is a quick-wear part. We need to change it regularly, otherwise, it will affect your working efficiency.
2. skid steer flail mower
The function of the flail mower is similar to the brush cutter. It can also clean up overgrown brush and vines.
The difference is that the shape of the flail mower is "Y", which can ensure no weed splash. If your working areas have lots of rocks or any other objects that do not cut easily, I recommend you can use a flail mower.
3. skid steer post driver
The skid steer post driver is designed for pile driving. It is an ideal choice for fencing contractors, landscapers, ranchers, farmers, ranchers, and maintenance departments.Agrotk 680 and 750 post drivers have a powerful power system. The energy class is 680 ft-lbs and 750 ft-lbs respectively. You can use our machine easily to drive the pile.
4. skid steer auger
Our customers often use skid steer augers to install fences, plant trees, drill piles, and mix cement.
There are different types of auger bits in the market. Different auger bits have different lengths, diameters and collar sizes, and materials. So maybe it is difficult for you to choose the right auger bit. You can see our blog on how to choose auger bits. It includes all factors that you need to consider when choosing a skid steer auger.
5. skid steer mulcher
There are usually two types of skid steer mulchers- the disc mulcher and the drum mulcher.
Drum mulchers get their name from the cylindrical, shape of a drum. These heavy-duty land clearing mulchers attach to skid loaders and shred small trees and brush with a forward spinning motion
The drum mulcher is ideal for High-production environments, Softer soils.
Disc mulcher gets their name from the flywheel, the shape of a flywheel. The shape of the disc and the position of the teeth allow you to safely and effectively cut and mulch material.
6. skid steer stump grinder
Skid steer stump grinders are crucial tools for tree care professionals, contractors, or homeowners who want to remove a stump from a property.
The stump grinder works by using a rotating cutting disc that mulches the wood into small pieces. When using the stump grinder, raise the grinder wheel a few inches above the stump, go to the edge of the stump, lower the wheel blade, and start cutting into the stump on a low setting.
The Stump Grinder is a great tool to use for landscaping, as it provides you with a superior and more efficient way to grind away unwanted tree stumps.
7. skid steer lamdscape rake
Landscape Rake was designed to remove small to medium-sized rocks as small as 3/4" along with unwanted roots and debris.
Landscape Rake also breaks up lumpy soil, while grading, leveling, and scarifying – preparing the soil in a one-step process. This is the most suitable tool for preparing a seedbed, sodding, or lawn leveling.
8. skid steer Vibratory roller
This skid steer vibratory roller is designed for compacting concrete, soil, gravel or asphalt for roads or foundations for landscaping, roads, sidewalks, golf courses and parking lots.
9. skid steer trencher
Skid Steer Trencher attachments are commonly used to dig trenches for utilities, irrigation, cables, and pipes. It is the perfect tool to dig trenchers for installing drainage and trench warfare.
How to store and extend the life of a skid steer attachment?
The price of the machine is usually high and its structure is very complex, so if you don't store and maintain your machine correctly, you may encounter some tough questions.
Here we give you some tips to maintain your skid steer attachment better.
1. Clean the attachment regularly and change oil if needed
Skid steer Attachment is usually used outside, so there must be a lot of dirt, dust, and grease on the attachment, in addition to providing lubrication, it will help push dirt and debris away from moving joints and provide a barrier against corrosion. So you need to use a pressure washer to clean your attachment regularly, especially paying attention to the power system.
Also, hydraulic systems should be clean, address oil in time will surely prolong your attachment's lifespan.
2. Clean the couplers regularly
Almost all outside dust in hydraulic systems comes from hydraulic couplers. So it is essential for you to wipe down the coupler!
3. Paint the rusty parts of the attachment
Skid steer attachments are made of Iron, so if you always leave them outside and let them experience the wind and the sun, some parts must be corroded and get rusted. This will result in some complex failures.
Once you find some parts of your attachment are rusty, you must paint them in time, which can prevent attachments from corroding
4. Regularly check some parts that are prone to wear and tear
There are some common expendable components and wear parts in the skid steer attachment, such as:
We need to check the above parts regularly to make sure these parts are sharp. Otherwise, these worn parts will reduce your efficiency and even cause damage to your attachment.
5. Store in your warehouse and off the ground
If you won't use certain skid steer attachments for a long time, You'd better prepare an attachment shelf for them. It can keep the attachments dry and clean. And it would be better if you use something to cover the attachment. You know, during the rainy season, even if you store your attachments in your warehouse, moisture can still corrode them. So make sure it is stored off ground.
How to change skid steer attachment?
Reference: primeattach , rutmfg
It's the basics and the beginning of using attachments. Here is a step-by-step guide to changing your attachments.
1. Firstly, make sure the surrounding environment is safe
---Find a flat surface (not many rocks, mud, sticks, or uneven).
--- No one is around your skid steer loader and ensure there are no distractions.
---Ensure there's no debris in the attachment.
Attach the skid loader to the attachment and lock levers or pins down into the attachment. Lift the machine up and visually verify that the pins are through both holes on each side of the quick-attach plate.
2. Connect hoses
Connect hoses from the attachment to the skid loader. Doesn’t matter the sequence that you hook them up up. Connect by pushing them together (Male and Female couplers). You should hear a click and once connected, give a little pull on them to make sure they are secure and locked together.
3. Turn on Hydraulics Operate
Turn on the auxiliary hydraulics inside the skid steer to start operating the attachment. First off, operate auxiliary hydraulics at low idle and low speed. You want to do this to make sure all connections are secure and there are no hydraulic leaks on either the skid loader or attachment. Once you can see no leaks and everything functioning as it should, you can start to turn up the idle on the skid loader and run hydraulics at a faster speed.
Once all the proper precautions have been taken and everything is secure, you’re ready to get to work!
How to control the skid steer attachment with Solenoid Valve

The hydraulic solenoid valve is a directional control valve widely used in hydraulic systems to change, allow or restrict the flow of liquid.
We use the solenoid valve to control the movement of certain parts of the skid steer attachment. In the Agrotk product line, solenoid valves are widely used in soil conditioner, landscape rake, and tree shear.
We use a remote control-including transmitter and receiver to connect the solenoid valve. It is convenient for you to use the remote control to control your skid steer attachment.
